Oakley iPhone CaseThis is the second time that Oakley has made a product that synergies with Apple.  The first were sunglasses that worked in conjunction with the iBall

Since everybody knows Steve Jobs pumps out super sweet products like the iPhone, iPod, and iRobot, we don’t usually cover many of the “i” products.  However, since Oakley doesn’t usually manufacture phone cases, we thought this needed some special attention.

The Oakley iPhone case features a durable sure-grip design crafted from Unobtainium® rubber.  The open face provides full screen access while also providing protection via the slight rubber lip that raps around the front edge.  Don’t worry, you’ll still have full access to all cord connections.

*Even with all that protection, there’s still a 0.01% chance your iPhone will get pregnant (and by pregnant I mean broken), so drink responsibly.

Danger Bomb Alarm Clock

danger bomb alarm clock

If you fantasize about being Jack Bauer and want to defuse a bomb every 24 hours, then you need the Danger Bomb Alarm Clock.

Wake up every morning to the sound of an explosion, the only way to make it stop is by following the color code that randomly resets each day. No more smacking the snooze button from dreamland, your brain will have to actually take in information and perform a function; a great way to force your lazy ass out of bed. If you’re middle eastern we recommend not using this device as your travel alarm unless you enjoy missing flights in exchange for hostile interrogation and cavity searches.

*It may be pertinent to note that our color blind research team found this clock particularly troublesome as did our quadriplegic test subjects.

kyocera_lingo

With this straight forward and easy to use phone from Kyocera, you’ll always understand the Lingo.

The phone was created for Cricket Communication users.  Yes young grasshopper, Cricket is a cell phone service provider within the United States.
The Lingo has a decent thickness at about 0.79 inches, but not too overbearing considering it folds open for a full keyboard text station complete with a second screen.
The phone itself is comfortable to use, easy to hear, and compact enough to not be a burden.  I would recommend this phone to younger individuals that spend most of their day texting each other answers for their exams.

The Lingo is built for the texting fiend without all the unnecessary gizmo’s and doodad’s, although it does feature a 1.3 megapixel camera and bluetooth.

AVIC-F900BT best car stereo system, best in car navigations
It can be tough finding the best car stereo and navigation system for your vehicle, but you’ve come to the right place.  At Essential Gear Guide we don’t like to make things too complicated and that’s why we love Pioneer.  These guys like to make the most sophisticated/top of the line products simple to use; and we appreciate it.  I was a huge fan of the AVIC-Z2 and now they have the Z3 which retails for $1800.00 and is worth every penny.  But before you go out and drop 18 Benjy’s, you might want to consider the new AVIC-F Series due out this June (08).  The AVIC-F900BT (shown above) combines navigation, bluetooth, voice recognition and iPod capabilities, along with all the ultimate in car entertainment choices.
The VoiceBox technology is the best available, but your going to have to keep reading to find out why.

ipod Hoodie

The iPod Hoodie is perfect for sketchy mo-foe’s loitering around the playground, or anyone else that wants to draw attention to the fact that they’re trying to keep a low profile.  I would also recommend this case to anyone that doesn’t want to look like a complete tool bag with their iPod strapped to their upper bicep.
If you don’t have yourself an iPod yet, you really need to get with the program; that old music player just doesn’t cut it in 2008, and neither do those short-shorts; I don’t care if they’re more comfortable to run in.

*Please note: we do condone and even encourage the use of short shorts by certain woman.

Rosetta Stone Espanol Level 1,2 & 3 Spanish Latin AmericaDo you want to do more with a foreign language than just memorize words and phases
I’ve been playing around with Rosetta Stone for a couple weeks now, and it really is the best tool I’ve ever seen for learning a new language.  With 31 languages, the programs focus on immersion with no translation.  Basically, it’s a more organized and highly accelerated scenario of being dropped off in a foreign country; your brain connects words with images to learn naturally without memorization.
Rosetta Stone uses native speakers together with proprietary speech recognition analysis to make sure you don’t sound like a stereotypic heavy accented foreigner.  You can set the speech precision level on easy, normal, medium, difficult, or even custom depending on whether your interests lie with merely understanding the language or perfecting its pronunciation.  The special contextual formation and adaptive recall methods will make sure you have the confidence and cues you need to not only retain the language, but to get the words out on the spot for fluent communication.  Check out the demo.

 iTouchless Bio-Matic Fingerprint Door Lock
Sick of replacing window screens because you lose your house key every other week?  Now you can quickly get inside and keep the crazy’s out with the iTouchless Bio-Matic Fingerprint Door Lock.  With the cover down, it looks like any other door handle, but slide it up to expose the scanner and quickly unlock your door with a fast and easy fingerprint confirmation.
Choose to program a pass code with your fingerprint or merely open this James Bondish style lock with a standard key.
For those of you that don’t want to bother with passcodes, scans, or keys, you may activate passage mode.  This allows you to unlock the door by merely sliding the cover up.  If you weren’t familiar with this type of lock, you wouldn’t even know that the sleek stylish metal top had the ability to slide. The average trespasser would just assume this was a standard lock.  I find this device especially handy for doors inside the house; an office, storage room, etc.  No one carries around keys when their inside, but some rooms should stay locked.  For Mr. Fancy Pants, the lock also comes in Gold.

*May not be suitable for people without fingers

Sounds like a high powered seafood machine for the rich and adventurous but it’s actually far better. This surge protector power strip solves one of modern man’s most difficult conundrums… namely how to accommodate all those bulky plugs into the same power strip without creating a daisy-chain of unsightly serge protectors. The simple yet innovative design of the Calamari edition gives you versatility with some sea creature appeal.  Offering 3,420 Joules of power surge protection, you could plug your flux capacitor into this thing with no worries.  Unlike other solutions, this is available now.  With swivels, lights, alarms, and even a DSL hook-up you’ll finally have that power problem figured, and if not you can always use the powersquid to fend off those pesky sperm whales.

Rotating Surge Protector

I wish companies would stop making Bohemian sized AC power plugs that hog up all the space on the power strip.  Why can’t they all use those coil transformers you find in the middle of laptop cords.  Most brands are wising up, but there’s always going to be that dumb ass company that hasn’t clued in yet.  That’s where the rotating surge protector swoops in to save the day.  The image above is merely a design by Cyber Demon, but I like the set-up.  The sockets rotate 180 degrees to accommodate any combination of plugs, chargers, and adapters. The dials on the front allow you to select an icon that represents what you’ve plugged in; no more jiggling or un-knotting cables just to unhook the correct plug.  If you can’t wait for this design to be a reality, check out some of the other options on the market, such as the Belkin wall version, the CTA strip, or the Powersquid.

From Oakley founder Jim Jannard, comes a serious piece of cinematographic equipment. The RED ONE Camera is designed to be a modular, up-gradable system, that doubles as a sub-machine gun (or at least looks like it will). Users can add hardware, software, storage, handling and monitoring accessories as they become more serious about filming. But hold on, that’s not even the best part:

The typical high-end HD camcorder has a 2.1M pixel sensors and records with 3:1:1 color sub-sampled video at up to 30fps. The Red has 11.4M pixels, 2x over-sampled HD in 4:4:4 or 4:2:2, or your choice of 4K, 3K, or 2K Mysterium Super 35mm cine sized (24.4 x 13.7mm) sensor resolution quality delivering up to 30fps, 60fps, or 120fps respectively; and all this with wide dynamic range and color space in 12 bit native RAW. At 4K, that’s more than 5 times the amount of information available every second, and with vastly superior recording quality.
