<p><img src="http://www.voltaicsystems.com/images/photos/backpack.jpg" border="0" alt="Voltaic Solar Panel Backpack" width="282" height="282" align="left" />The <a title="Home Page" href="http://www.voltaicsystems.com/index.shtml" target="_blank">Voltaic</a> Backpack is a rough-grade glimpse into the not-so-distant future when accessories harness and store energy, and a weekend hike can start without the worry of having a fully charged cell phone.<br />
The Voltaic line converts light energy to talk time and ipod life via a series of <a rel="lightbox" href="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3034/2951657063_a42f9ceb19.jpg?v=0" target="_blank">solar panels</a> located on the back face of the bag.  The pack comes equipped with <a rel="lightbox" href="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3047/2951654673_519fdf300d.jpg?v=0" target="_blank">11 adaptors</a> for any sort of electronic gadget you might be rolling with, a<a rel="lightbox" href="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3030/2951654999_b8f3b409a9.jpg?v=0" target="_blank"> battery pack</a> that stores harnessed energy for use when the suns gone down, and <a rel="lightbox" href="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3293/2951657657_4619951df7.jpg?v=0" target="_blank">convenient pockets</a> for your <a rel="lightbox" href="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3284/2953240436_7505a5c6ce.jpg?v=0" target="_blank">laptop</a>, <a rel="lightbox" href="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3254/2951656531_32a72ec1ff.jpg?v=0" target="_blank">phone</a>, ipod, etc.<br />
Despite the old school JanSport style, this is a rouged sac that I would recommend to anyone in need of a daypack with 1,850 cubic inches of storage space.  The <a rel="lightbox" href="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3248/2952506508_d108d5579e.jpg?v=0" target="_blank">padded mesh back</a> cuts down on back sweat by providing more airflow while the mesh straps provide ergonomic comfort.<br />
Best of all, the shell of this bag is made from <a title="Squidbillies: A+ Bullcrap" href="http://www.adultswim.com/video/?episodeID=8a25c3921a5ee2a6011a5f475ee00047" target="_blank">recycled soda bottles</a>, very cool.</p>
<p><span id="more-1106"></span></p>
<p>With a <a rel="lightbox" href="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3148/2952504467_0bfa85ca00.jpg?v=0" target="_blank">cigarette-lighter outlet</a>, you can easily plug in any of the thousand car charges you&#8217;ve accumulated over the years.  My favorite feature is the <a rel="lightbox" href="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3254/2951656531_32a72ec1ff.jpg?v=0" target="_blank">phone pocket with power cord attached</a> to the shoulder strap; charge it up with easy access while you walk.  All your toys can charge either directly from the <a rel="lightbox" href="http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3209/2952385259_e12b08aa5b.jpg?v=0" target="_blank">solar panels</a> to the devices or by charging up the battery pack and out to your toys later.</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>4 watts of solar power</strong> for fast charging</li>
<li>The solar panels protect fragile items inside</li>
<li><strong>Included <a href="http://www.voltaicsystems.com/backpack_batterypack.shtml">battery pack</a></strong> which stores power until you need it</li>
<li><strong>11 adaptors</strong> for easy connection to handheld electronics</li>
<li>Fully padded laptop sleeve for up to a 17&#8243; laptop (16.5&#8243; x 11&#8243; x 3&#8243; or 42cm x 28cm x 7cm)</li>
<li>Wire channels throughout the bag for headphones, bladder tubes etc.</li>
<li>Adjustable phone / MP3 pouch on the shoulder</li>
<li>Removable waist strap</li>
<li>High density padding in the shoulder straps and back</li>
<li>Mesh backing material for better air flow</li>
<li>Shell uses 600D fabric made from recycled PET (soda bottles), which is tough, water resistant and light weight</li>
</ul>
