Montague Corporation started in 1987 when David Montague, a graduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), developed a business plan around a patent for a full size, folding bike.

The SwissBike XO uses all standard Mountain Bike wheels and components serviceable at any bike shop, and comes equipped with a hand welded custom drawn aluminium frame, Sram® X-0 Trigger Shifters, hydraulic front disc brake and Rockshox® Recon front fork.

ADVANTAGES

Full-size bike for cruising city streets and mountain trails with 26″ standard wheels.

Folds to 36″ x 28″ x 12″ in under thirty seconds without the use of tools.

Compact size allows for convenient storage in a car trunk, boat, closet, or private plane.

Limited lifetime warranty on frame.

27-Speed with front suspension fork and disc brake.

Equipped with industry standard wheels and components serviceable at any bike shop.

Patented technology not available from any other company.

The portable nature of the bicycle allows it to be taken anywhere.

SPECIAL FEATURES

Safety Lock: Recessed drop out for quick release prevents frame from folding even with quick release not tightened.

New CLIX™ Wheel Release System: Patented pending wheel release system that allows for easy wheel removal with only one hand.

Hold the press, the Dutch have an athlete that could medal in Beijing, lets spend three years and $1,000,000 to increase his chances by an 8th of a percent!

Cycle maker Koga Miyata claims to have spent a million dollars on the development of a new bike frame for Olympic bound athlete Theo Bos. Of course with the American dollar acting like Patrick Swayze after chemotherapy, it’s not really that impressive. They should have said the bike cost 10,400,000 Mexican Pesos, that sounds pretty good.

Obviously this is a marketing maneuver by Koga to brand their name. If they really wanted Theo to bring home gold they would have spent their 630,000 Euros on a chemist, not fractional aerodynamics which makes as much difference as eating an orange ten minutes before the race opposed to nine.

Yes, I’m sure Koga Miyata has national pride and wants Theo Bos to win gold, but a million bucks couldn’t afford the kind of advertising generated by throwing out a press release on a frame which reportedly has the lowest air resistance of any bike in the world and a price tag of a million US dollars.

As previously alluded, I’m sure the Holland Research School of Molecular Chemistry has been working hard for the past three years to make sure Theo gets that gold; there’s just no way to do it without a little help from foreign chemicals; oh yeah, and a million dollar bike with one gear and no brakes.
